Gullywasher

Vehicles plow through backed-up rainwater on Main Street in Mathews in the late afternoon last Wednesday, Feb. 24, after a downpour overwhelmed the runoff system. While heavy rains and winds plagued Gloucester and Mathews, other parts of the state experienced deaths and heavy damage from tornadoes and flooding as a strong cold front passed east.
