As the kick-off for events culminating with the Guinea Jubilee celebration on Sept. 25-26, the Guinea Jubilee Committee recognized its 2026 Achilles Student Art Contest winners on Saturday at Buck’s Store Museum, Bena. They are Tegan Mayer, pre-K; Cole Latimer, kindergarten; Justin Spears, grade 1; Artemis Harpole, grade 2; Harper Cothern, grade 3; Addy Edwards, grade 4; Kylie Baker, grade 5 overall; Elaine Hagen, grade 5 runner-up. Each category winner received a special certificate of recognition and gift bag of treats. In addition, each will receive the 2026 Guinea Heritage T-shirt. Barbara Priest was art contest chair. Additional upcoming events include a sale of Guinea homemade cakes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Buck’s Store and the 2026 Miss Guinea Jubilee Pageant on Saturday, Sept. 19....
