Guinea Heritage Association receives donation

Artist Lawrence Hollingsworth has donated his painting “Maryus Church” to the Guinea Heritage Museum. He made the presentation at a recent meeting of the Guinea Heritage Association.

The painting won second place in the 2017 Guinea Jubilee art contest, and Hollingsworth also donated his monetary prize to the museum’s building fund.

Hollingsworth’s painting depicting Maryus church highlights one of the important landmarks in Guinea, a release stated. “Many landmarks have long since been demolished, thus it is so important to document the past as we preserve the Guinea history,” said GHA vice president Leslie Belvin. “Hollingsworth’s painting will be a perfect addition to the museum.”
