The invitation tells the basic but not the complete story of a most unique, original and enjoyable event. It read: “A year ago this month we moved from our homeless state into what was to become our new home, Creek View. This would not have been possible without your support and your creative input. We need to ask one more favor. Please join us in christening our new screen porch and our Creek View Pub. On this occasion we will call upon you once again for input and a vote. Our young neighbors from Bavon Beach, Stephen and Susan Versen, have created four potential signature bar drinks. Stephen will be our mixologist for the evening and he and Susan will be our bartenders. Tasty snacks will accompany each creative beverage. Dennis and Brenda Baker”

The Bakers recently renovated and remodeled this old Bavon home, keeping to the traditions of a waterman’s dwelling.
