GSO investigating Hayes bank robbery

The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the robbery that occurred last week at the Langley Federal Credit Union on Route 17 in Hayes.

The GSO said the suspect entered the bank at 3:46 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and handed a bank teller a note demanding cash. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot into the Farm Fresh parking lot, where he got into a small, dark-colored car that left in an unknown direction of travel.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6’ to 6’2” tall and weighing 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie jacket, white stocking cap and blue jeans with a white surgical mask covering his face.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery or the suspect is asked to call the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office at 693-3890 or Crime Line at 1-888-Lock U Up. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest. ...
