Growing list of events cancelled throughout area

A growing list of events originally scheduled for the coming weeks and months have been either postponed or cancelled outright in response to the spread of COVID-19.While hardly a comprehensive list, the following are some local events that have been disrupted as a result of the virus.

In Mathews

The Mathews Historical Museum’s St. Patrick’s Day dinner, originally scheduled for this past Monday, has been postponed until further notice. Tickets already purchased will be honored at the rescheduled event. The Mathews Farmers’ Market will start a month late this year, on May 2. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday through October.

The Mathews Spring Cleanup has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date. The Mathews Community Easter Egg Hunt has been cancelled.

Friday’s meeting of the Mathews County Resources Council has been cancelled. The April 16 meeting currently scheduled will depend upon library availability.
