Grimm interview part of Katie Couric documentary

Gloucester High School student Gavin Grimm is among the people journalist Katie Couric interviews in a National Geographic two-hour documentary, “Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric.” The documentary airs at 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, on National Geographic. 

Grimm, who was born female but identifies as a male, filed suit in 2015 seeking access to the boys’ restrooms at GHS in a case that has reached the U.S. Supreme Court. 

The National Geographic documentary sets out to explore the evolving concept of gender through the lens of science, society and culture, according to a release. 

The special looks at the complexities of gender in everyday life, and examines this polarizing social and scientific issue with the help of scientists, psychologists, activists, authors, families and individuals like Grimm, the release said. ...
