Green Top CEO elected to Chesapeake board

Chesapeake Financial Shares, holding company for Chesapeake Bank, has announced the election of R. Blaine Altaffer to its board of directors.

The election took place at the 117th Annual Shareholders Meeting on April 6 at Rappahannock-Westminster Canterbury in Irvington.

“Blaine brings to us a wealth of business knowledge, especially in the retail sales and marketing space,” Chesapeake chairman, CEO and president Jeffrey M. Szyperski said. “We are excited to have his leadership at the holding company level.”

Altaffer is the CEO of Green Top Sporting Goods, the largest hunting, fishing and outdoor retailer in Virginia. Prior to joining Green Top, he was the senior vice president at Time Warner Cable where he oversaw residential sales, managing a sales force of over 7,000, for the second largest cable company in the U.S. with over 18 million households served.
