Green to step down as MHS principal

Albert C. Green, Mathews High School’s principal for the past four years, will be leaving MHS at the end of the current school year to accept a position in another school division, he announced today.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time serving as the principal of Mathews High School,” he said. “It has been a pleasure working with the students, parents, staff and teachers to make MHS an elite school in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am proud that we have been able to earn full accreditation and attain an average graduation rate of 95 percent each year during my tenure as principal.”

Green said he cannot provide details about his new position until his appointment has been approved by his new school board.
