GREA awards four $1,000 scholarships

The Gloucester Retired Educators Association has awarded four $1,000 scholarships from two funds to Gloucester High School seniors.

Receiving $1,000 from the GREA is Maggie Ronan, who plans to attend James Madison University for a major in communications disorders and speech and language education.

GREA also presented three $1,000 scholarships from the Carris Harris Memorial Scholarship, saying that Harris was a devoted member who died in 2018. Her family set up the scholarship fund.

Recipients of the Harris scholarships are Mary Waclo, who plans to attend Rappahannock Community College to study education; Taylor West, who will attend JMU to major in psychology/school counseling with a minor in music; and Hailey Williams, who will attend JMU to study vocal music and theater.
