Grayson Shield named 2025-2026 GHS Duke of the Year

Senior Grayson Shield has been chosen to represent Gloucester High School as the Duke of the Year for the 2025-2026 school year. Throughout his four years at GHS, Shield has become an accomplished student, athlete and community member. Shield is a member of the Beta Club, the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is an All-A honor roll student, and has been a multi-year recipient of the All-Academic District award. He is a member of the varsity boys’ volleyball, indoor track and field and baseball teams, and has received various all-district, all-region and all-state recognitions for his athleticism. “I’ve made it to five state quarterfinals,” said Shield. He has celebrated two regional championships with the GHS varsity baseball team. Last school year, he qualified for the indoor track and field region team in three different disciplines.
