The Main Street Preservation Trust recently awarded approximately $40,000 in grants for interior improvements along Main Street in Gloucester.
Businesses selected for the grants are:
—Yolanda’s, reimbursement of $9,200 for carpet, lighting, painting and other improvements;
—Smith’s Florist, $5,796 to replace the existing carpet with porcelain tiles and repair overhead lighting;
—Olivia’s Restaurant, grant of $7,787.80 for improvements to the back room with new flooring, door and sheetrock for walls and ceiling, and improvements in a restroom and the food prep area;
—Ricky Wiatt, property owner of the old Courthouse Barber Shop building next to Gloucester Arts on Main, was awarded $9,200 for improvements to the building’s upper story including new porcelain tiles, lighting repair, interior painting and merchandising; and,
