Grants available through HRA’s Student Philanthropy Committee

The Hampton Roads Academy Student Philanthropy Committee is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations in the Greater Hampton Roads area, including Gloucester and Mathews, for its 2022 grant cycle.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. on April 4 and must be submitted online at hra.org/mary-p-blalock-fund. Several grants will be awarded in May.

According to a press release from Jaik Henderson, director of advancement for HRA, the committee will give funding preference to grant applications focusing on five areas of interest: arts and culture, economic development, health and wellness, education, and the environment.

The maximum grant available through the committee’s competitive process is $1,000, said the release. Funding for programs will receive priority over funding for operational expenses and capital campaigns.
