GRACE HARRIS PRINCE MARSHALL

Grace Harris (Prince) Marshall, 93, of Cottageville, West Virginia, formerly of Glass, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2021.

Grace was born on Sept. 7, 1927 in Mathews County, Virginia, and grew up as a farm girl in King and Queen County, Virginia.

She was the daughter of the late Otis and Jennie Prince. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett C. Marshall; sister, Edna Perry; brothers, Benjamin and Jarvis Prince.

Grace was a 1945 graduate of Pleasant Hill School in King and Queen County.

She married the love of her life, Everett “Honey” Marshall, on Jan. 21, 1946 and built a life on the Severn River in Glass. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, where she built a life for her family as a homemaker.

She was known for her delicious seafood meals and her Christmas fruitcakes and lived her life through her faith. Grace enjoyed reading, bird-watching and, most importantly, Grace shared her love with all she knew.

Grace is survived by her daughters, Patsy (John) Stanley of Cottageville, and Mary (Lew) Lawrence of Gloucester, Va.; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
