Grace Hamrick Croswell, 84, of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016.

Grace was a native of Rutherford, N.C., and a former resident of Hampton before moving to Gloucester in 1978.

Grace was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, and enjoyed painting and sewing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Grace was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Hamrick; a daughter, Martha Patterson; sons, Gene Hamrick, David Hamrick and Danny Croswell; sisters, Beatrice Rollins and Kathleen Sweatman, and brother, Mack Scoggins.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Jerry Croswell; daughters, Mary Hall (Jay) of Hobgood, N.C., and Gaye Northrop of Gloucester; sons, Dale Hamrick (Angel) of Edenton, N.C., and Dallas Hamrick (Karen) of Gloucester; a brother, William Scoggins of Mariposa, Cal.; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 28, 2016 in Amory Funeral Home, Yorkown, with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
