In addition to holding online services, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Gloucester has started holding Sunday school classes over Zoom.
According to Grace Covenant’s pastor, the Rev. Dr. Doug Nagel, there are Sunday school classes available for both adults and children. Classes can be joined by calling the church office at 804-693-2071 to be invited into a class.
The church has been holding its services online through Facebook and YouTube. “We’ve done it with limited equipment,” said Nagel.
The church is looking into purchasing better cameras and increasing the quality of sound, lighting and production.
Grace Covenant has also had issues with getting members to view its online services. Nagel said that some of the congregants do not have a computer or Internet access, making it impossible for them to view services. Nagel also felt that some members are a bit skittish about using Facebook due to security concerns, but are willing to watch on YouTube.
