Achilles Elementary School student Chloe McPherson and her mother, Nicole McPherson (far left), were recognized at the State of the Commonwealth Address at the State Capitol last Wednesday, Jan. 10, by Gov. Glenn Youngkin for Chloe’s success in the math component of the ALL IN VA plan. The program provides intensive reading and math tutoring for students in the foundational years of third through eighth grade. Every single school division in Virginia implements this program now. The mother and daughter are pictured with Education Secretary Aimee Rogstad Guidera. Nicole McPherson served on an interim basis for several months on the Gloucester County School Board following the resignation last August of at-large member Kellie Lockerby.
