Gospel music featured Saturday at Opry

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will present a night of uplifting gospel music this Saturday, Nov. 20.

The show, at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School, will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers performing new Christian music as well as traditional and Southern gospel standards. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8.

From hymns like “How Great Thou Art” and “Standing on the Promises” to newer music by Anne Wilson, Casting Crowns and Lauren Daigle, the music on this show will be a variety that is synonymous with the Opry.

Tickets are $15 for adults; $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center and Marketplace Antiques on Route 17 at White Marsh. Tickets are also available at the door on show night.

Opry fans are encouraged to mark their calendars for the annual Smith Family and Friends Christmas Show, which will be held this year on Dec. 4.
