Gores receive additional prison time

A Gloucester couple currently serving 30-year sentences for abusing their daughter received additional prison time in Gloucester Circuit Court yesterday for the felony neglect of their infant son.

Brian Gore had 57 months added to his 30-year sentence and his wife, Shannon Gore, received an additional 36 months. The time was imposed by Judge William Hamblen. Gloucester Commonwealth’s Attorney Holly Smith had sought the maximum penalty of an additional 10 years for the couple.

In 2011, the Gores’ daughter was discovered emaciated and in squalor inside a makeshift cage in a darkened room when investigators went to the Gores’ mobile home on an unrelated matter. The 6-year-old had the body weight of a 6-month-old when she was found.
