Mrs. Jennie Gwynn of Redart will leave shortly for Middlesex, where she goes to assist the Rev. Mr. Moffitt in a revival. May much good be done.
Little Miss Marie Ogden, who has been quite sick, we are glad to say is much improved at this writing.

The celebration on the third of July, at New Point High School was a success in spite of the fact that a prominent speaker for the afternoon and entertainment for the evening were not available.
Quite a crowd gathered to witness the tennis matches and ball games.
The first match was played between Messrs. Burke and Smith of Mathews and Prof. Smith and Mr. Melvin Snow, of New Point. New Point won the match in two straight sets. Prof. Smith and Mr. Snow then played Messrs. Fowler and James of Mobjack losing to the latter, two of the three sets. The racqueteers will play at Mobjack Thursday afternoon, July 16.
