Mathews Land Conservancy has announced that Cirse Gonzalez is the newest member of its board of directors.
“We continue to expand our scientific and technical skill-sets on the board to further bolster talent within our team,” noted MLC president Bernadette La Casse. Gonzalez is the Coastal Training Program Coordinator at Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS)/William & Mary.
Gonzalez has a bachelor of science degree in biology from Duke University and a master of marine affairs from the University of Washington. “Cirse brings valuable experience in communications and outreach, natural resource management, responsible recreation, and marine science,” said MLC secretary/treasurer Robb Riddle. Her work history includes NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, where she worked in outreach, as well as constituent and legislative affairs at five U.S. marine laboratories.
