The Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association played last Thursday at the golf course in Hartfield. The competition was stroke play, net. Three places were awarded in each flight. Winners were:
First flight—Kim Harris (first place, 79), Julie Whitaker (second place, 80) and Vicky Gunn (third place, 80). Second flight—Gail Thomasson (first place, 75), Chong Hudgins (second place, 77) and Ann Stanley (third place, 79). Third flight—Carol Sennott (first place, 76), Lynne Richardson (second place, 81) and Marny Richardson (third place, 83).
Couples league
The last couples’ league event of the year was held on Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Piankatank River Golf Club. It was a small group of only 10 and a two-man best ball net format was held with a fun twist at the end in which cards are drawn to dictate what team had what score on a particular hole. The event concluded with the following participants putting in a long day to close out this crazy 2020 season, a release stated.
