The Middlesex chapter of Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring a charity golf tournament at the Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield. The Habitat “Fore” Humanity event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.
“We hope this event will bring us closer to building the remaining houses set for our development in Topping,” Middlesex Habitat President Jackie Wake said. “We spent two years laying the groundwork for our first subdivision and broke ground in 2020.”
“The Topping subdivision will accommodate five homes for individuals who qualify both financially and need wise. One home is close to completion and there are families who have applied for consideration for the remaining homes. We just need more money,” she added.
The tournament is set for an 8 a.m. start with lunch and awards at 1 p.m. The Piankatank River Golf Club is located at 6198 Stormont Road in Hartfield.
