GMHS to hold Jump, Jive and Woof concert Sunday

Rain or shine, supporters of the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society will be “cutting a rug” to raise money for homeless animals. From 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, the Bob Boyer/Carroll Bailey Monday Night Big Band will play a concert on the lawn of the GMHS shelter on Jackson Lane in Gloucester.

Attendees will learn to jitterbug, enjoy an early dinner buffet, beer and wine, and take shelter tours, a release stated. The Bob Boyer/Carroll Bailey Monday Night Big Band is a 17-piece big band that plays big band swing and jazz music. Original compositions played by bands such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Quincy Jones and recent composers/arrangers such as Rob McConnell, Bob Florence and Buddy Rich are played by the band.
