GMHS runs dog adoption special

Now through Sunday, all adoptable dogs at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society will be available for adoption at whatever price the adopter is willing to pay.
GMHS currently has many dogs available for adoption, and even more on its waiting list to be brought in and put up for adoption. The goal of the special is to place the animals in adoptive homes to open up space for pets currently on the waiting list.
“We continue to receive a high number of animals at our shelter,” said GMHS Executive Director Charles Brown. “Our goal is always to get these pets into homes as quickly as possible.”
Every dog at GMHS is spay/neutered prior to adoption, current on vaccinations and microchipped. The normal adoption fee for a dog is $175-$200.
All adoptable dogs can be viewed at GMHS Tuesday-Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. For questions about specific pets, the adoption team can be reached at animalplacement@gmhumanesociety.org or 804-693-5520.
