GMHS responds to needs of community during pandemic

The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society may be closed to shelter visitors through 11 a.m. through Wednesday, April 1, and all onsite and offsite events during this time are cancelled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that does not lessen the GMHS team’s commitment to the people and pets they serve.

Because homeless animals at GMHS and the Gloucester County Animal Control Shelter count on GMHS for their daily care, feeding and enrichment, the shelter team is creatively working to ensure continuity of care and minimize service disruptions during this time.

GMHS’ Fixin’ to Save Spay & Neuter Clinic remains open and has modified the check-in/check-out process to limit contact with clients. Clients with scheduled appointments will receive a phone call from a clinic team member to confirm appointments and provide guidance for check-in/check-out. Clients exhibiting symptoms of illness are requested to contact the clinic to reschedule their appointment by calling 804-694-0349....
