GMHS donates leashes to AVFR to keep pets safe

Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society’s Volunteer & Events Coordinator Voula Douglerakis and Animal Care Supervisor Dom Turner visited Abingdon Volunteer Fire & Rescue last Wednesday, March 11, to donate pet leashes to help support animals during emergency responses. “Partnerships like this are incredibly important,” said GMHS Communications & Development Manager Caitlin Donnelly. “First responders are often the first people on the scene during emergencies and having the right tools to safely secure pets helps protect both animals and the people working to rescue them. By working together, we can make sure that pets are kept safe when families need help the most,” she said....
