GMHS cuts adoption fee for military personnel

The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society has announced its latest year-round adoption program, which will provide discounted adoption fees for active and retired military personnel and their spouses.

Individuals who have or currently serve in the military are able to adopt any pet at a 20 percent discounted adoption fee by presenting their military identification at the time of adoption.

“Pets are important members of our families and we would like to thank the many men and women who have sacrificed for our country by incentivizing the adoption of a shelter pet,” said GMHS Executive Director Charles Brown. “We hope they find a loving companion for their family through GMHS.”

The shelter is located at 6620 Jackson Lane, Gloucester. No appointments are required to visit. Adopters can stop by anytime during business hours, which are Tuesday-Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
