The Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic held its 14th annual Golf Classic on Friday to raise funds for the care of uninsured and Medicaid patients in the community. More than 140 supporters of GMCC traveled to Williamsburg’s Kingsmill Resort, with 35 teams playing the Plantation Course. First-place finishers were Jim Leigh, Jeff Leigh, Jason Leigh and Hunter Martin. Prizes were also awarded for longest drive and closest to the pin. GMCC’s “most seasoned team” of Eva Mullins, Sarah Finney, Margi Teagle and Vivian Shackleford were ceremoniously honored for their spirited participation. In keeping with GMCC golf tradition, the entire group of golfers wished Vicky Gunn a happy birthday before teeing off. Thanks to the support of the Gloucester-Mathews community, and especially GMCC’s Community Health Partners, tournament revenue surpassed $40,000.
