Gloucester’s Community Engagement department expands its roles

Gloucester County’s Community Engagement department has recently expanded to include a Public Information component. The department, which has traditionally overseen community use and involvement in all the county’s public schools, now serves as an official point of contact for information about county events and services for members of the media and the public, according to a Gloucester County release.

The department will also play an integral role in marketing and branding Gloucester County and help communicate progress as the county seeks to implement the board of supervisors’ vision and priorities for the benefit of county residents and businesses.

“The department title was changed to reflect the additional focus placed on keeping the citizenry informed of government news and happenings,” said assistant county administrator Carol Steele.
