Gloucester Youth Football opens season against James City, Middlesex

In the first week of Gloucester Youth Football action, the White Knights took on James City while the Red teams faced off against Middlesex. Winners in Saturday’s season openers included the White Juniors and Red Mites, Mighty Mites and Juniors. The Red Midgets tied their Middlesex opponents, 12-12, in double overtime.

The White Juniors shut out James City, 20-0. Leading the way for the Juniors was Martaine Morris, who scored one rushing TD and another on a reception. Walker Atwood added one rushing touchdown, and also threw for the other touchdown. Alec Douglas connected on one of two extra-point kicks. The entire defensive unit was outstanding shutting out the Jaguars. Most spirited cheerleaders were Jaydan Perkins, Madison Monnoyer, Taylor Favazzo and Molly Smith.
