Gloucester welcomes 24 new teachers

Gloucester County Public Schools will welcome 24 new teachers with an orientation session from 9:30 to 4:30 today at the Gloucester Public Library in Main Street Center. The school division will also add nine new employees to its support staff for the upcoming school year.

 

All teachers will report to work on Monday and begin the day with refreshments and a convocation starting at 9 a.m. at Gloucester High School. The convocation will include remarks by division superintendent Ben Kiser and assistant superintendents John Hutchinson and Chuck Wagner.

 

John Gordon, the local Chick-fil-A franchise operator, will be the featured speaker for the convocation. Gordon will also speak at the convocation for support staff that begins at 10:30 a.m. at GHS.

 

Staff development sessions for teachers will be held Tuesday through Friday of next week, followed by teacher workdays Aug. 27-30. Individual schools will also hold open house hours for students and their parent...
