The Walmart Supercenter in Gloucester began offering its free grocery pickup service this week.

The store has hired and trained a number of personal shoppers to ensure that customers ordering and picking up their groceries from the parking lot receive the freshest produce and the highest quality meats the store offers, assistant store manager Sara Lemon said.

Customers can either place their orders online at https://grocery.walmart.com/ or through the store’s app for smartphone devices.

Lemon said that once orders are placed and paid for online, they can be picked up on the north side of the store where there are a number of designated parking spaces for “grocery pickup only” near Home Depot. Hours for pickup are seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
