Gloucester updating exterior images of county homes

Gloucester’s real estate assessment department just finished taking new images and conducting exterior reviews of nearly 19,000 parcels in the county in just over eight months’ time and is also working in a cutting-edge way to evaluate agricultural properties.

The primary goal of the exterior review is to take new street images of every parcel in the county. The majority of the last street images were taken in 2005. Gloucester assessor Derek Green said this project was a major undertaking and should be uploaded to the county website, along with the new data for each of those parcels, by Nov. 1.

According to Green, the effort went “incredibly smoothly,” and said that they encountered a number of properties with “No Trespassing” signs, and images of those sites were not taken.
