Gloucester Treasurer’s Office earns accreditation

The Gloucester County Treasurer’s Office recently received accreditation from the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia.

The Office Accreditation program is a voluntary professional certificate program overseen by the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia. Sixty-seven treasurer’s offices received accreditation this year.

While it is not required for any treasurer’s office to be accredited, receiving accreditation acknowledges that the office meets the statewide best practices for performance in treasury management, a release said.

“I am very proud that the Treasurer’s Office has once again been recognized by the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia as an accredited office,” said Gloucester Treasurer Tara Thomas. “Our office first achieved this in 2003, and we have been recognized every year since then. It is tangible recognition of the effort put forth each and every day by the Treasurer’s Office staff members and myself to serve the citizens of Gloucester County.”
