Gloucester track athletes advance to district meet

Several Gloucester High School athletes have qualified to compete in the Peninsula District Outdoor Track Meet tomorrow and Saturday at Todd Stadium in Newport News.

GHS freshman Anna Robins has qualified for the 3200 meter race with a personal record time of 12:11 and the 1600 run with a time of 5:53. Seniors Kevin Speray and Tyler Price have also qualified for those events, Speray with times of 10:21 and 4:38.28 and Price with marks at 10:32 and 4:56.55.

Sophomore Emily Manzanares has qualified for the 1600 with a time of 5.55 and Natalie Bueker, also a sophomore, will compete in the 800 meter race and the 400 and 200 meter dashes. She has qualifying times of 2:27.01, 1:00.1 and 27.39, respectively, in those events.

Bueker additionally qualified for the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, eight inches. Senior Adrian Garcia qualified for the boys’ 800 with a time of 2:07.57.
