Gloucester third graders given ‘Green Learning’ guides

“Green Learning” guides, covering such topics as where water goes when it rains, the benefits of recycling, and ways to reduce waste and conserve water, were recently distributed to third graders in Gloucester County Public Schools. 

The guides were provided by askHRgreen.org and Gloucester Clean Community. askHRgreen.org is a public awareness campaign administered through the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, a regional organi-

zations which represents 17 local governments, including Gloucester.

The guide features an interactive format with colorful graphics, puzzles, reading passages and creative class activities, according to a release. It was developed according to the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) guidelines by personnel working in the region’s public works and public utilities departments.
