Gloucester supervisors to tour county facilities today

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors has a busy next couple of weeks, preparing for the adoption of the county’s fiscal year 2012 budget, which is scheduled for April 26.

The board will continue its meeting from Monday night at 3 p.m. today. It will reconvene in the county administration parking lot, take roll and begin to tour county facilities, according to Georgette Hurley, Gloucester’s assistant county administrator.

According to Hurley, the governing body will tour the county’s water treatment plant, the buildings and grounds maintenance garage, Woodville Park, the county’s animal shelter, Brown Park, the utilities department maintenance yard, the senior center and its annex, county building #3, the former health department building, the public works office, and the Beaverdam Park maintenance area.

Supervisors requested the tours last month in order to assist them in making considerations for the fiscal year 2012 budget.
