Gloucester supervisors to meet Tuesday

Gloucester supervisors will hold a pair of public hearings Tuesday night. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the colonial courthouse in the court circle.

One hearing will consider an amendment to county ordinance to modify voting district lines and to create a new polling location. The redistricting is mainly to adjust the populations of the Petsworth and York districts.

Results of the 2020 Census found the Petsworth and York districts sitting outside the parameters to be considered evenly populated. York was deemed overpopulated while Petsworth was found underpopulated.

The new polling location will see the White Marsh polling place move from Bethel Elementary to Page Middle School. The other hearing will be to consider an application to reclassify 0.3 acre of the Gloucester Point Magisterial District from B-2 Village Business to B-1 Business.

Those who cannot attend the meeting in person to give comment, can instead submit comments online at www.gloucesterva.info/FormCenter/...
