Gloucester supervisors to hold organizational meeting Tuesday

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold its organizational meeting Tuesday night, beginning at 7 o’clock in the colonial courthouse.

During the meeting, the board is expected to elect its officers for 2012, including a chair and vice chair, according to assistant county administrator Georgette Hurley. It will also approve resolutions appointing a clerk and deputy clerk and an emergency management director and coordinator, Hurley said.

Board representatives will be chosen to serve on the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization, library board, Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission, planning commission and the social services board.
Also on Tuesday, the board is expected to discuss and approve its 2012 meeting schedule, as well as its 2012 board operating procedures, rules of procedure, standards of conduct, code of ethics, citizen and media contacts and meetings, training and conferences policy.
