Gloucester supervisors hold public hearings on budget, tax rates

Two hearings were held last week on Gloucester County’s proposed FY 2024 budget and the advertised tax rates.

County supervisors held the two hearings last Wednesday night in the T.C. Walker Education Center Auditorium. The county’s proposed operating budget currently stands at $158.5 million, with the accompanying tax rates at 58.3 cents per $100 for real estate and $2.95 per $100 for personal property. Transit Director Ken Pollock spoke at the hearing, providing a synopsis of Bay Transit’s role in the community and giving an update on his organization. He said ridership is growing, though it has yet to reach pre-pandemic levels.
