Gloucester supervisors approve two solar farm projects

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors approved the siting agreements and conditional use permit applications for Fox Mill Solar and Daffodil Fields Solar, both located along Fary’s Mill Road, by four separate 6-1 votes during Tuesday night’s meeting held in the colonial courthouse. Shannon Hanson was the sole dissenter. Several members of the community provided their opinions on the two proposed utility-scale solar energy facilities during the meeting. “As a resident and property owner in Gloucester County, I reject this project in full and encourage more environmental studies, more neighborhood and homeowner input and alternatives to this solar field/data center pattern that is plaguing the state,” wrote in Laura Dannemann of the Ware District. “I support renewable energy, so I am in favor of both the Fox Mill Field and Daffodil Fields solar farms,” wrote in Earl Murphy of the York District. “I think the locations in timber farms is perfect for the county and our residents.” “I’m...
