Gloucester Social Services staff at full strength

For the first time in nine years, Gloucester County Department of Social Services has a fully-staffed leadership team, director Beth Barry said.

The newest member to join the team is Kelley Kulzer, who became Family Services Supervisor effective Feb. 1. Kulzer previously worked here for three years as a Family Services Specialist and one year for Norfolk’s Social Services Department.

Originally from Hampton, Kulzer earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Services at Old Dominion University.

Other members of the leadership team are Lisa Kersey, assistant director of services, who assumed that post last October after working 18 years for the local agency, most recently in family services; Bonnie Longworth, administrative services manager, who has been with Gloucester Social Services for 29 years; Jackie Morande, benefit program supervisor, who has been with the local agency for seven years; Sandy Vernon, benefit program supervisor, who has been with the agency for eight years;...
