Gloucester seeks local business input in survey

Gloucester County’s Department of Economic Development has developed a survey to gather data that might help existing businesses and help lure new businesses.

Sherry Spring, director of economic development, said she hopes to have an initial report on survey results later this fall.

Postcards are being mailed to 600 businesses in Gloucester; the mailing represents perhaps 30 percent of all businesses that are in the county. Spring said it is difficult to get a good handle on how many businesses are actually located in the county since many companies based in other areas get permits here.

The postcards contain information for the select businesses to go online to take the survey, which will probably take less than five minutes to complete, Spring said. She hopes to receive at least a 20 percent response to the survey.
