Gloucester school retirees honored at reception

Gloucester County Public Schools honored its 2012 retirees with a reception on May 29 at Gloucester High School. The retirees heard remarks from Gloucester School Board chairman Anita Parker and school division superintendent Ben Kiser, who also presented each retiree with a gift.

Just over 40 GCPS employees retired during the 2011-2012 school year and together they had contributed over 1,150 years to local education. The retiring certified educators who had 25 years or more of service to GCPS were as follows:

Al Ailsworth Jr. (25 years), Patricia Brown (35), Louise Corbin-Reed (39), Ivy "Mary" Cosby (40), Billye Dalton (35), Barbara Fumagalli (39), Sallie Horrell (28), Jean Knill (25), Carol Laros (30), Jay Laros (30), Debra Marshall (36), Gerald Morgan Jr. (39), Debbie Robins (38), Sandra West (29) and Jane Worthington (26).

Retiring support personnel who had 25 years or more of service to GCPS were as follows:

Barbara Brown (35), Roger Kelly (25), Rose Kenney (35), LuAnne Knuteson (30), Judith Kossler (26), Frances Roy (25), Michele Sears (25), Frances West (35), Deborah Yakalavich (36) and Mary Young (26).

Several of the local retirees additionally contributed multiple years of service to other school divisions.
