Gloucester School Board moves meetings to 5:30 p.m.

The Gloucester County School Board voted unanimously Tuesday to change it regular monthly meeting times to 5:30 p.m. for the remainder of the year.

The regularly monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month, with upcoming meetings scheduled for Oct. 9, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11, all at the T.C. Walker Education Center. The monthly meetings previously began at 7 p.m. 

In other business, the board scheduled some make-up days to recoup instructional time lost during the four days school was cancelled this month because of the governor’s evacuation order (Hurricane Florence).

Dec. 19 and Jan. 23 and 24 will now be full days for students. They were originally scheduled to be early dismissal days. Also, Jan. 25 and 28 will now be half days for students when they were originally scheduled to have those days off. 

In addition, students will have off Jan. 29, which will now be a professional day, and the second semester will begin on Jan. 30.  ...
