Gloucester school board holds self-evaluation

The Gloucester County School Board, meeting Tuesday at the T.C. Walker Education Center, looked inward, examining the results from its self-evaluation, reflecting on the board’s performance over the past year.
The self-evaluation was divided into six categories: Board Operations and Governance; Relationship with the Superintendent; Strategic Leadership; Community and Stakeholder Relations; Board Culture and Member Conduct, and Board Development.
Within each of those categories were different indicators that each board member voted one through five on, one being strongly disagree and five being strongly agree, board chairman Leonne Arsenovic explained.
Overall, members rated their performance as good. Under “greatest strengths,” members highlighted the board’s ability to discuss amongst themselves, to not let policy disagreements become personal, ensuring information is relayed to Superintendent Dr. Anthony Vladu, and being aligned with the goal of student achievement.
