The Gloucester County School Board unanimously adopted its proposed budget of $84,311,571, which includes a 3 percent compensation increase, for fiscal year 2027 last Thursday during a budget work session held in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium. The school board presented its proposed budget for consideration to the Board of Supervisors Tuesday evening. During last Thursday night’s meeting, superintendent of schools Dr. Anthony Vladu provided budget items, as well as more detailed information on specific budget items as requested by the school board. New to the budget is a full-time community engagement coordinator position for Gloucester High School at a cost of $88,159. Each of Gloucester County Public Schools’ seven other schools has a coordinator serving at least part-time.
