Gloucester runners stay unbeaten on home course

The Gloucester High School cross country team beat both Mathews and Kecoughtan on Oct. 5 to stay undefeated on the home course in Beaverdam Park.

The Gloucester girls finished with 22 points, followed by Mathews with 42 and Kecoughtan with 73. Freshman Alyssa Lass won the race for the Dukes with a personal record time of 21:21. Ali Adickes was second with a PR time of 22:04 and Ruby Williams was third with a new PR time of 22:18. 

Makala White was seventh overall and fourth for Gloucester in 22:11, Katie Saunders was 10th overall in 22:44 and Lydia Hart was 11th with a new PR time of 23:01.01. Eighth grader Caitlyn Shelton was 33rd overall and the first junior varsity runner to finish for the Dukes with a new PR time of 27:26. The Gloucester boys finished with 30 points, ahead of Kecoughtan with 46 and Mathews with 47.
