The Gloucester High School cross country teams traveled to Mechanicsville to compete in The VA XC Showcase over the weekend.
In the boys’ 5,000-meter run, coming in first for the Dukes was Joel Taylor with a time of 18:40, followed by Aiden Pincince (18:43), Erik Waters (19:54), Logan McAllister (22:27), Brayden Jackson (22:52), Lincoln Alcorn (23:01), Jason Coleman (24:04), Ryker Jordan (24:59) and Isaac Torres (25:28).
For the JV boys, Greyson Clements competed in the middle school boys’ 4,000-meter run placing 28th out of 204 runners with a time of 15:17.
In the 5,000 meter run for the girls, Mackenzie Alcorn ran a time of 22:47 placing in the top 100 out of 199 runners. She was followed by Rachel Blittle (23:36), Sarah Bullins (24:03), Hailee Jorgensen (25:36), Olivia Gray (25:49), Chloe Sylvester (25:50) and Zoe Scott (25:51).
For the JV girls, three finished in the top 100 out of 169 total. Chelsea Shield ran a 27:23, Michelle Field ran a 27:46 and Kandalyn Baxley ran a 27:47.
JV girls who ran in the 4,000-meter run were Lacey Donnelly (20:20) who placed in the top 100 out of 160 total, Aubrey Lord (21:09) who also placed in the top 100, Stella Scott (21:15) and Camille Reyes (23:29).
The Dukes’ cross country team will compete again in the VHSL Region 5B Championship in Newport News on Wednesday, Nov. 6
